In 2012, our organization began its journey with humble beginnings. Operating out of a small rented office space and powered by the vision of four dedicated founders, we launched our first program—providing laptops to university students in rural Punjab. We recognized the transformative potential of these machines, understanding how access to technology could revolutionize education and empower students to contribute to a brighter future for Pakistan.
As word of our mission spread, our organization began to grow. By 2014, we had expanded our core team to 43 members, bringing together friends, colleagues, and like-minded individuals who shared our passion for driving change. This year also marked a major milestone: the launch of our first national project. During the devastating floods in Balochistan, we introduced innovative flood prevention technologies. This initiative not only provided immediate relief but also helped us refine our approach, teaching us the intricacies of project development, community engagement, and effective implementation. In 2015, we embraced a defining principle: finding value in novelty. Guided by this philosophy, we officially launched our global volunteer recruitment program, focusing on highly educated Pakistanis living abroad. Our first cohort of volunteers included over 20 passionate individuals from the United States, Canada, and the Netherlands, all united by a shared commitment to improving their homeland. Their expertise and dedication became a cornerstone of our initiatives, enabling us to expand our reach and impact.
Over the years, our efforts have steadily grown. Today, we proudly host a robust network of over 1,000 volunteers spanning the globe. Together, we have spearheaded projects that have modernized key sectors in Pakistan, from education and technology to disaster management and community development. Our initiatives have not only provided immediate solutions to pressing challenges but have also laid the groundwork for sustainable progress.
Finding value in novelty is our passion. As an organization of change, we provide hope to those who await it. Our dedication has spanned much of the last 12 years, with each year bringing groundbreaking developments.
Over the years, IHP has been instrumental in modernizing Pakistan. From our humble beginnings, we have grown to become a beacon of progress and industrious development. Our initiatives have not only uplifted communities but have also allowed us to form a special bond with the people of Pakistan. We believe that change must not be subtle; it must be transformative.
Currently, IHP is leading four flagship projects that epitomize our commitment to transformative change: Gen-AI, harnessing the power of artificial intelligence to drive innovation across public education nationwide; Affordable E-Transport, promoting sustainable and affordable transportation solutions to reduce carbon emissions and improve mobility; The Gifted and Talented Scholarship, providing disadvantaged high school students with the opportunity to study at the world’s best institutions; and Curbing HIV/AIDS, addressing stigmas and introducing the latest innovations in treatment to patients in high-risk areas.
At IHP, we thrive on minimalism by maintaining a narrow scope of focus but achieving a much wider impact. At any given time, we only work on four distinctive projects or Initiatives for Prosperity (IPs). Our targeted approach allows us to concentrate our efforts and resources where they are needed most, creating meaningful and lasting change.
As we look ahead, we are confident that IHP will continue to grow and expand its impact, leading Pakistan into a better tomorrow.
We begin by learning. Our vast volunteer network investigates groundbreaking global innovations in climate, economics, poverty reduction, gender, healthcare, and social justice. This knowledge fuels our "Developmental Potential Index," highlighting Pakistan's development gaps.
After presenting this report to our board, we vote on issues that we feel are the most important and would lead to the greatest change in Pakistan. These issues must be suited to the current sociopolitical and economic context of Pakistan and must be implementable nationwide, not just restricted to specific provinces.
Project execution is paramount. Our team partners with field experts to craft realistic national plans for our Initiatives of Prosperity (IPs). This rigorous process, lasting 4-12 months, culminates in the launch of IPs
Constant evaluation reports allow us to continuously improve and address any deficiencies. This iterative process ensures that we remain adaptable and effective in our mission to bring about positive change in Pakistan.
